Mardell Burkholder

Mardell is responsible for providing leadership and managing the Foundation’s fiscal, operational and strategic success. Mardell directs all programming, ensuring effective development and implementation and has been directly involved in three CHF nutrition research projects. She supervised “The State of Nutrition and Physical Activity in Colorado Schools”, a CHF publication that established a baseline understanding of the existing nutrition and physical activity environments in schools. This data led to work focused on preventing childhood obesity by transforming school lunch. A Lunch for Life healthy nutrition in schools initiative was launched in Colorado in 2008.

Mardell has collaborated with non-profit organizations, schools and foundations on programs that ensure the health of our children. She has served on the Aspen Board of Education and has her Masters from the University of Colorado Denver.
